Thank you so much for having us for our first ever Mala event. Full house, beautiful class, brilliant generosity, result!
“It was a great group,” said Emily, Hackney Yoga Project’s founding director, who taught the class. “The candles twinkled as dusk fell and the energy was so sweet in the room as the concentration honed.
“Huge thanks to all who took part and donated so generously, and to the lululemon athletica Covent Garden Showroom team for hosting us.
“Every penny will go directly towards enabling more refugees and those seeking asylum in London due to human rights abuse to practice yoga.”
Mala means ‘garland’ in Sanskrit
Our Mala programme (or ‘Mala’) joins the forces of Yoga teachers and centres, holding regular yoga events, donating profit to Hackney Yoga Project.
We use this to refund travel and provide free yoga classes. The core group we work with are registered with the UK Home Office due to war and oppressive political regimes.
