What is your professional background?
I have served as a senior leader in the rail industry for 25 years, working in business transformation, operations, strategic planning, stakeholder management with customers and government and as a director on a number of boards. I've served as a non-exec director of network rail's international consultancy business and as a trustee of two charities.

Describe your skill-set?
Problem solver, question asker! Collaborative leader used to decision making and providing strategic and operational decision making and direction, good governance advocate, relationship builder.

What drew you to become a trustee at OURMALA?
Yoga. I feel strongly that yoga is just as important off the mat as on it and showing kindness and care for those in need. Ourmala' s mission resonates strongly with that belief.

What do you love most in life?
Being outdoors, gardening, yoga and sharing these loves with others.

What is your relationship to yoga?
Yoga kind of underpins my life.

Sophie Bennet

What is your professional background?
Management accountancy and commercial analysis, specialised in the transport sector.

Describe your skill-set?
Commercial judgement, strong analytical skills, financial awareness, experienced in leading challenging conversations.

What drew you to become a trustee at OURMALA?
It is a great cause and it is exciting to be able to contribute

What do you love most in life?
Time with family and those close to me; time in nature.

What is your relationship to yoga?
I went to my first class 14 years ago and have enjoyed practicing since.

Stacey Adams

What is your professional background?
I've worked in the not-for-profit sector for the last 20 years, initially in communications and then as a chief executive for the last 13 years. Before that I was a television producer in education for the BBC.

Describe your skill-set?
At work I'm an experienced manager and leader with a track record in stakeholder engagement, strategic direction and delivery. But my skills are more about being able to see different sides of an argument, blending the rational and analytic with the compassionate and empathetic. I can run things and get things done, but my preference is to find the potential in others and empower them to achieve.

What drew you to become a trustee at OURMALA?
Commitment to improving the lives of refugees and asylum seekers, and confidence in yoga as an important tool for the creation of well-being for those who have suffered trauma.

What do you love most in life?
Learning and growing through exposure to new ideas and ways of thinking. I am training to be a counsellor, which will be the third time I have changed careers in my life.

What is your relationship to yoga?
My daily yoga practice is the foundation for my own well-being, calm and centredness.

Kurt Budge

What is your professional background?
CEO of Beowulf Mining plc, mining industry for > 20 years, roles in industry, private equity and broking, Mining Engineering degree from Imperial College and an MBA from London Business School.

Describe your skill-set?
Strategy, finance, marketing, lateral/creative thinker, open minded.

What drew you to become a trustee at OURMALA?
It is a great cause and it is OURMALA's founder Emily Brett. Emily is an inspiration, I wanted to be part of the team that helps her take OURMALA forward and increase the impact the charity has in the lives of the clients it currently serves, and the lives of those it seeks to serve.

What do you love most in life?
Life itself, my family and friends, music (Fleetwood Mac - Rumours), rugby, the beach, tea and cake, the seasons, what yoga has given me.

What is your relationship to yoga?
I am on a journey.
