Ourmala is ON!

STOP PRESS!
We are so happy to announce that we’ve officially changed our name from Hackney Yoga Project to Ourmala.

Ourmala is a made-up word comprising: Our + Mala, which means ‘garland’ in Sanskrit.

In 2011 we started-up as Hackney Yoga Project, aiming to help the refugee and asylum-seeking community in Hackney find strength through yoga. Following three years of development, our name change represents the fact that we now work across London, not just in Hackney. It also symbolises what we stand for: compassion, interconnect and social justice.

Our world, our lives, our choices, our human mala…
We’re all about working together, aligning hearts, heads and actions and using our yoga practice to serve. Our mission remains to help refugee and asylum-seeking women in London find strength through yoga.

We are now seeking funding, investment and partnerships so that we can serve more refugees and asylum-seekers in London. Interested? We’d love to talk. Click here to contact us.
