Portugal 2015

In July 2015, a week-long yoga retreat will be held in Portugal, which we could not recommend more highly. It will take place on a six hectare traditional rural estate in the gorgeous countryside of central Portugal. The teachers and centre founders, Peter and Sue, are extremely experienced and inspirational, and their centre is a place of authentic yogic practice with each moment being an opportunity to explore open awareness meditation.

It is stunning, the food delicious, you will feel so relaxed and recharged, go home uplifted (with a tan if you like) and, wait for it…

Peter and Sue are donating every penny of profit to Ourmala. So, not only do you have an amazing time but you know that your choice is helping some of the most vulnerable and marginalised people living in the UK today: refugee and asylum-seeking women.

“If you’re joining us during this special week, we look forward to welcoming you and sharing in experiencing yoga not just on the mat but in everyday life, living it from the heart,” say Peter and Sue.

“We feel it is very fitting to offer our very own yoga practice called Samgata yoga, which means to combine or join together. It is exclusive to the yoga evolution retreat centre and we have developed it over the years.”

Mala means ‘garland’ in Sanskrit and Ourmala is all about interconnection. Our world, our choices, Ourmala… This retreat is part of The Mala Initiative, our programme for yoga teachers who support our cause

Samagata yoga has been inspired by ashtanga yoga, yin yoga, hatha yoga, vinyasa yoga, yoga psychology and many different meditations, pranayama practices.

More info about the retreat and booking here. Spaces are limited so please do book early to avoid disappointment.
