Story so far

Here are some highlights from our 2017 so far. Greatest thanks to  everyone who has helped and supported us. These numbers are from between January and end of July 2017:

  • 324 adults and babies/children have directly benefited from our services

  • 137 adult clients accessed yoga

  • 107 young refugees and asylum-seekers accessed yoga

  • 50 accessed critical resources

  • 13 accessed the English Programme

  • 76 clients are registered with the Happy Baby Project with an average of 25 clients attending each session (with an average of one baby or child under the age of three years)

  • 34 days of the Happy Baby Project delivered*

  • 22 clients had been referred but hadn’t yet made it to yoga class (on average it takes four weeks between when a client is referred to them walking through the door, for various reasons including anxiety and lack of confidence about travelling in London)

We support clients that originate from a range of countries, including: Albania, Eritrea, Iran, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka and Uganda

Happy Baby Project now hosts 76 women who are pregnant or with a child under 3. We don’t just provide the specialist yoga programme, we offer English lessons, a hot, fresh and nutritious lunch, peer support counselling and moreRead more here. 

We launched Yoga for Ourmala community classes with lululemon, The Life Centre, Hot pod Yoga and The Shala. These generous studios hold a regular class in the weekly schedule and donate the proceeds of the Yoga for Ourmala class to us. Visit their websites for more information.

We have been fortunate enough to receive funding from the European Union and Big Lottery and increasing support from the community.
