We hope you are well and had a lovely summer.
We’re looking for volunteers for the Happy Baby Community in South London on Fridays, were we work with around 50 mums and babies every week in partnership with a number of other small charities and many volunteers.
It’s a really lovely team and if you or anyone you know are interested in volunteering with us, we’d love to hear from you. Please email Daisy and Gaëlle at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You’d need to be free on Fridays from 11am – 2pm in Thornton Heath. Starting as soon as you can. We refund travel costs. Here’s what we’re looking for:
1. Helping the mums learn English. You don’t have to have teaching qualifications or experience. You do need to be kind, friendly, patient and know how to spell and use an apostrophe.
2. Joining the kitchen team to make the all important nutritious lunch. No experience needed. Good nutrition and eating with others in a friendly place is not something these mums and babies get every day so making the lunch a positive sharing experience is an important part of the day.
3. Supporting the babies and young children while their mums are practicing Yoga and learning English. Yoga and English are both very popular but it’s hard to join in fully when your baby or young child needs attention. The more people we have supporting the little ones, the more peace of mind and soothing the mums can find on the yoga mat and the more opportunity they will have to fulfil their potential in English class. You need to love babies and children and be friendly and patient but no experience necessary.
Wishing you all the best for a happy start to the autumn and looking forward to meeting some of you soon!
